I am a highly experienced Gemologist and academic professional with over 15 years of expertise in gemstone testing, identification, and professional gemmology education.
I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka (2001) and have received advanced, internationally recognised training in gemmology in both Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.
My professional qualifications include a Certificate in Gemmology from the University of Moratuwa (2006/2007 batch) and the prestigious Gemmology Diploma (FGA) awarded by Gem-A – The Gemmological Association of Great Britain (2011), one of the world’s most respected gemmology institutions.
From 2005 to 2014, I served as a Gemologist at the Gem Testing Laboratory of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA), Sri Lanka, gaining extensive hands-on experience in professional gemstone identification, advanced laboratory testing techniques, and gemstone certification.
Since 2016, I have been serving as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa and the Gem and Jewellery Research and Training Institute.
In addition, I am a Registered Gem-A Tutor in Sri Lanka (Great Britain), dedicated to supporting students in achieving internationally recognised gemmology qualifications and building successful careers in the global gem and jewellery industry.
